SecureOffice Approved by Defense Intelligence Agency

SecureOffice now approved for connection to JWICS and lower level networks

WASHINGTON, DC, October 2000 — Trusted Computer Solutions, Inc. (TCS) the industry leader in Information Security (INFOSEC) products and services, today announced that its SecureOffice workstation AKA Army Trusted Workstation (TWS), version 3.0 has been granted "Authority to Operate" (ATO) by the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA). This following extensive testing by both DIA and the National Security Agency (NSA).

The ATO is granted to US Army sites that have completed installation, training, certification testing and coordination with DIA as of the date of the ATO. New Army sites are granted an IATO of up to 180 days to coordinate with DIA all necessary site training, site CONOPs/SOPs, and site certification testing. Subsequent ATOs will be issued once coordination with DIA has been completed.

DIA also grants non-Army sites the authority to install, test, train administrators/users, and operate the TWS under IATOs issued by Air Force and Navy Certifiers for 180 days once site accreditation requirements have been coordinated and approved by DIA. Subsequent ATOs will be issued once coordination with DIA has been completed.

SecureOffice is a new and innovative tool designed to provide secure workstation access to multiple Microsoft Windows™ office automation (Microsoft Office 97) and UNIX applications running at different sensitivity levels, all from a single desktop. The system also allows individuals to retrieve, process, and disseminate information across networks operating at different security levels (e.g., SIPRNET, NIPRNET, etc.). The system supports the use of e-mail and Netscape web browsing at multiple classification levels on multiple classified networks simultaneously.

"SecureOffice satisfies an urgent need within a number of communities to provide a means of accessing multiple classified networks from a single platform." states James Maple, Executive Vice President for Trusted Computer Solutions. "Now, rather than having two or more systems taking up room on their desks, users can access multiple networks using their mail, browsers, and favorite office automation applications, all from a single box."

SecureOffice is available on TCS' GSA Schedule, which allows all levels of Government agencies and departments to purchase INFOSEC software and system engineering services from Trusted Computer Solutions. The company is one of about 5 INFOSEC oriented businesses awarded a contract under this program, administered by the GSA's Federal Supply Service.
