WASHINGTON, DC Dec. 1, 2000 - Trusted Computer Solutions, Inc. (TCS), a Global Leader in providing the next generation of information security technology, today announced plans to make its entire suite of products available for Sun Microsystems's Trusted Solaris™ 8 Operating Environment. Trusted Solaris is the security enhanced operating system from Sun Microsystems that provides increased security for computers connected to the Internet. The Company plans to make its entire TCSecure™ family of Internet security solutions available on Trusted Solaris 8. Product shipments are expected to begin in second quarter 2001.

Why secure the server? There are lots of security tools on the market today, but most have focused on securing either the "transmission" of sensitive information, verifying the "identification" of an individual user, or restricting "access" to the server.

But, when the transmission of this sensitive information is completed, then this data, which everyone just spent such time and money to protect, gets "dumped" onto an NT Server or a standard UNIX server, which is no more secure than it has ever been. (e.g., Any hacker who can get to "root" -- a std function of all UNIX operating systems -- can have TOTAL ACCESS to the system and thus be able to override or disable other security systems installed on that server).

To secure the server/host environment a new technology is needed: a technology that gives the owner of the server the ability to set boundaries WITHIN the server, with the ability to set priorities for unique types of information and to set up different controlled access abilities to accommodate different kinds of users.
