TCS Completes Development of Web Guard

Digital Signature Technology Used to Ensure Secure Transfer of Critical Data

WASHINGTON, DC, December 2000 — Trusted Computer Solutions, Inc. (TCS) the industry leader in Information Security (INFOSEC) products and services, today announced that it has completed development of its new Web Guard secure document dissemination gateway.

TCS was commissioned by the National Security Agency to develop, using existing accredited TCS technology, a high assurance capability to implement via automation its new policy for the dissemination of classified documents from one security level to another lower level. The Web Guard will be used to securely transmit verified and digitally signed web data from Intelink on JWICS to Intelink-S on SIPRNET.

The NSA is currently canvasing the Intelligence Community for Beta sites to test out the new technology. Sites with requirements to pass large volumes of sanitized data (web or other) from one security level to another lower level (e.g., JWICS to SIPRNET) are prime candidates.

With the completion of the new product, TCS intends to market this new capability to the commercial world. The product solves two very common problems encountered in the business community: 1) the gateway restricts the dissemination of critical corporate data to only authorized, digitally signed documents, and 2) the use of digital signatures enforces data integrety and non-repudiation.
