SecureOffice Trusted Workstation on Linux
For government agencies and commercial organizations, SecureOffice® Trusted Workstation® eliminates the need for multiple desktop computers when access to more than one network is needed at the desktop. SecureOffice Trusted Workstation provides users with simultaneous, secure access to any number of different domains at varying classification levels from a single desktop, while maintaining complete workstation or laptop functionality. Each level is securely separated from others by the Red Hat® Enterprise Linux® 5 (RHEL5) operating system layer, which enforces a strong protection security policy that prevents cross-domain contamination.
Benefits of SecureOffice Trusted Workstation:
- Is easy to use, with a familiar Microsoft® desktop layout.
- Requires minimal training, as users have access to familiar applications including email, web browsing, chat, collaboration, Microsoft Office applications, as well as graphics and audio.
- Lowers total cost-of-ownership through reduced infrastructure as it allows simultaneous desktop access to multiple security levels from a single workstation.
- Developed to meet the PL4 requirements of DCID 6/3.
- Built on RHEL5, the first secure Linux operating system to enter evaluation at Evaluation Assurance Level 4 (EAL4) under the National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) against the Common Criteria requirements associated with Cross-Domain Solutions, which include Labeled Security Protection Profile (LSPP), Controlled Access Protection Profile (CAPP), and Role Based Access Control (RBAC) Protection Profile.
SecureOffice Trusted Workstation is based on NetTop®, a National Security Agency (NSA) research project, and is licensed to Trusted Computer Solutions under a Patent License Agreement with the Agency.
Users that require a thin solution have other options for implementing secure information sharing solutions. SecureOffice® Trusted Thin Client® is offered for those who do not require complete workstation and laptop functionality, but require secure connectivity and information sharing. Users can opt to blend the implementation of the Workstation and Thin Client products to meet the specific needs of all users.
SecureOffice® Trusted Workstation® and SecureOffice® Trusted Thin Client® were previously named SecureOffice® NetTop®2 — Workstation and SecureOffice®
NetTop®2 — Thin Client™ respectively. |
